What exactly is the Border Bogie Challenge?
The Border Bogie Challenge takes place in the beautiful conservation village
of Denholm in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
It's an insane, fast-paced timetrial race down a hill on a typical rural country
road, (which will have been closed to vehicles for the duration, obviously!) in
a homemade bogie (or a go-kart for those of you who aren't lucky enough to
And don't forget, for those mums and dads who are prepared to endanger
their children for the entertainment of others, there will be two, possibly
three kids runs in the morning for the under-sixteens.

A Brief Summary of the Rules
Bogies must have three or more wheels;
Bogies must have an adequate braking system;
Bogies must not have any sharp edges, glass or loose parts;
The Driver must be seated and facing forward;
Drivers must wear protective gear i.e. Helmet, gloves and a hardwearing jacket;
A strong towing eye must be fitted to pull the carts to the top of the course;

Border Bogies is held on the same day as Denholm Village May Fair, where there
are lots of activities going on, including, Car Boot Sale, Bouncy Castles, Childrens
Entertainment, Refreshments and much much more......
