The Challenge

The Border Bogie Challenge takes place in the beautiful conservation village of Denholm in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

What exactly is the Border Bogie Challenge? It's an insane, fast-paced time trial race down a hill on a typical rural country road, (which will have been closed to vehicles for the duration, obviously!) in a homemade bogie (or a go-kart for those of you who aren't lucky enough to be Scottish).

Brief Summary of Rules

Bogies must have four or more wheels
Bogies must have an adequate braking system
Bogies must not have any sharp edges, glass or loose parts
The Driver must be seated and facing forward
Drivers must wear protective gear i.e. Helmet, gloves and a hardwearing
jacket.
A towing eye in recommended to pull the carts to the top of the course.
